Non-employment related legal issue
Members can contact LegalLine (24hrs) on 0800 587 1278 for free initial advice covering:

personal injury: where an accident or illness is due to the negligence of the employer or non-work accidents, including road traffic accidents

clinical negligence

criminal injuries compensation

regulatory and criminal: criminal offences arising in the workplace and in the course of official duties

welfare benefits, plus

the union’s solicitors provide a range of other services at specially discounted rates for members. These include: conveyancing and property, probate, later life services (including powers of attorney)
Group Insurance
Members have the opportunity to add public liability insurance on to their membership. Called Bectu Extra, we strongly recommend taking advantage of the group policy.
For £40 annually, you get public liability insurance cover of up to £10 million as well as personal accident cover for injuries suffered at or on the way to work.
Bectu members also have access to a selection of insurance covers for freelancers, partnerships and companies, working in the media, film, broadcasting, theatre and live events industries covering: owned/hired equipment, liability, buildings/contents, business interruption, professional indemnity and personal accident, provided by Hencilla Canworth.
